Meet Our Team
Robert Binkele
Founder
Robert Binkele is the founder and CEO of Estate Planning Team (EPT), a nationwide membership organization established in 1999 which provides brokers, CPAs, attorneys, real estate and insurance professionals marketing and administrative support to implement estate planning and capital gains tax deferral strategies for their clients. Estate Planning Team provides exclusive access to market the Deferred Sales Trust, a proprietary capital gains tax deferral solution.
Robert is an independent financial advisor with DST Wealth Management, LLC. He has been securities licensed for over 25 years with previous experience as wealth manager for J.P. Turner & Company, LLC, Brookstreet Securities Corp, Raymond James Financial Services Inc., and Spelman Securities.
A San Luis Obispo, CA native, Robert earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in FCS Finance from the University of Utah where he played football for the Runnin’ Utes. From 1985-1986, Robert played professional football as a center for the San Francisco 49ers. His professional accolades include membership in the exclusive Forbes Finance Council, Pacific Life Leadership Club, Pimco Funds Chairman’s Counsel, US Allianz Presidents Club, Prudential Masters Council, two-time COLE Exceptional Customer Service Award winner and recipient of the Transamerica Circle of Excellence award.
Robert regularly presents webinars to brokers, advisors and real estate professionals throughout the country. He has been featured multiple times on The American Dream Network as well as discussing tax saving strategies on numerous podcasts.
Robert splits his time between Dana Point, CA and Indian Wells, CA with his wife Kelly. They enjoy spending time with family and watching their three adorable grandchildren grow.
Michael Boden
Chief Operating Officer
Michael has been the Chief Operating Officer for Estate Planning Team since 2021. As COO, he puts together the company’s systems and processes, improves efficiencies, forms strategic partnerships, and provides guidance to help Estate Planning Team members become more successful.
Michael graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics. After graduation, he spent 13 years in the consulting world, ultimately serving as his former firm’s Director of Marketing and helping the company achieve 4x growth in sales.
Michael grew up in Santa Rosa, California, and now resides in Sacramento. When he’s not working he enjoys running, reading, playing and coaching all sports and enjoying every moment with his wife and three children.
Chris Moore
Senior Accounts Manager
Chris is the Senior Accounts Manager at Estate Planning Team with over 33 years of experience in the field of Investments and is an Investment Advisor Representative with DST Wealth Management. He provides investment analysis, asset allocation, and conducts account reviews with performance updates for our clients. His securities licenses include Series 7,6, 63, 65 and 66.
Chris graduated from San Diego State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and earned a Certified Financial Manager designation from Merrill Lynch in 1997. He has served as Vice President and Regional Director with Alliance Fund Distributors, Lincoln Financial Distributors and GE Financial, among others. He has been a featured speaker at countless investment conferences across the United States, and was a Senior Partner with Alternative Wealth Partners through Patrick Capital Markets, LLC.
Chris was born and raised in Arcadia, CA and now resides in New York. He enjoys walks in Upstate New York, as well as live theater, and is a former professional drummer.
Taylor Gomez
Marketing & Member Services
Taylor is the Marketing Manager at Estate Planning Team with over 18 years of experience in executive office administration in financial and real estate fields. She handles the marketing activities, customer service, technical issues, and special projects for Estate Planning Team. As marketing director, she creates DST member resources and implements new strategies for our members to acquire new clients. Taylor provides membership and marketing guidance and solutions. Taylor is a desert native who attended Santa Barbara City College and Mesa Community College in Arizona, before settling back in the valley to begin her career. Taylor enjoys traveling (anywhere cooler than Palm Springs), movies, cooking, going camping (especially in Mammoth), and spending quality time with her husband and son.
Matthew McGaw
Client Service Specialist
Matt is the Client Service Specialist at the Estate Planning Team. He welcomes new clients and establishes their new accounts, transferring external accounts, managing note payments, and completing client requests. Before joining EPT, Matt worked for a smaller wealth management firm whose clientele mostly included pre-retiree and retired families/couples. He’s also a college English professor for Long Beach City College, welcoming new freshman and preparing them to think, read, and write at a college level. In his free time, you’ll find him reading, watching a Marvel movie, traveling, or spending time outdoors with his loved ones. Matt has a BA in English from UCLA and a MA in English from CSULB. He also holds his insurance license and is currently working on his Series 65 license.
Michelle Simpson
Client Support
Michelle provides Member Support to our Estate Planning Team professionals and has worked in the financial planning field since 2018. She previously worked as a Pharmacy Tech for 25+ years, and has a great knack for detail and organization. Michelle helps build member relationships and assists the EPT team with investigative work, reports, and processing paperwork, among other tasks. Michelle has a passion for learning and she’s currently working on expanding her knowledge of annuities and insurance. Originally from San Diego, Michelle now resides in beautiful Monterey, CA with her husband, son & daughter, and kitties. On her off time, she can be found combing the beaches for shells and rocks to add to her collection, or at a live music event.
Lydia Black
Scheduling & Case Manager
Lydia is the Scheduling and Case Manager at Estate Planning Team with over 13 years in client relations and finance. She handles the onboarding and maintenance of new EPT members as well as schedule coordination and document management. After attending the College of the Sequoias in California’s San Joaquin Valley, Lydia built her career in consumer lending and personal and business banking with a focus on building and maintaining client relationships. Before joining EPT, she spent years as a licensed relationship banker for JP Morgan where she was recognized with the National Achiever’s Award in 2020. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara county where she currently resides with her fiancé and terrier. Lydia enjoys cooking elaborate meals and desserts, reading, going to the beach, meeting new people, and spending time with her fiancé and family.
